Owlin has been developing news search and analysis tools since its inception in 2012. Owlin's proprietary search and analysis software helps you gain control over the wealth of information on the Internet. Owlin scans more than 2 million news sources around the world: corporate sites, government publications, academia, blogs, specialist sites, forums and news organizations, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 'turns the news into actionable intelligence'.
Bas van Ooyen, one of Owlin's co-founders, has developed - in collaboration with Stanford University - the largest statistical machine translation set in the world. This Owlin proprietary technology allows near real time translation of articles of various languages into English. In addition, Owlin's clustering algorithms automatically group news items by topic and context, independent of the language.
Building on these technologies Owlin has developed several applications, starting from its general-purpose ‘Newsroom.’
The Newsroom delivers news on topics defined by the user. The filters on the news can be fine-tuned by using a number of criteria and combinations thereof.
Owlin also offers its API to clients who want to integrate it into their own platform.
Over the years Owlin has built several applications using the strengths of the Owlin technology.
